Recipe: Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Spread half of the frozen tater tots in an even layer on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture over the tater tots, spreading it out evenly.
- Pour the soup mixture over the ground beef layer, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
- Top the casserole with the remaining tater tots, arranging them in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tater tots are golden brown.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
