Oklahoma Fried Onion Burgers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • Pickles for garnish (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Onion Mixture:

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of vegetable oil.
  • Add the thinly sliced onions to the skillet and cook until they become golden brown and caramelized, stirring occasionally. This process may take about 15-20 minutes. Once done, set aside.
