Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
If using frozen puff pastry, let it thaw according to the package instructions. Roll it out slightly on a lightly floured surface to smooth it out.
  3. Prepare the Banana:
Peel the banana and slice it into thin rounds or small chunks, depending on your preference.
  4. Assemble the Puff Pastry:
    • Cut the puff pastry sheet into squares (about 4–6 squares, depending on how big you want your pastries to be).
    • In the center of each square, place a few banana slices.
    • Sprinkle chocolate chips (or chunks) over the banana slices.
    • Optional: If you want to add some extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or a little brown sugar on top of the bananas.
  5. Fold the Puff Pastry:
    • Fold the corners of each square toward the center, creating a little pocket or envelope around the banana and chocolate. You can also fold the pastry into triangles if you prefer.
    • Pinch the edges to seal, ensuring no chocolate or banana escapes during baking.
  6. Brush with Egg Wash:
Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden, shiny finish once baked.
  7. Bake:
Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve:
Let the pastries cool for a few minutes. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving for a touch of sweetness.
