Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Prepare the Puff Pastry:
If using frozen puff pastry, let it thaw according to the package instructions. Roll it out slightly on a lightly floured surface to smooth it out. - Prepare the Banana:
Peel the banana and slice it into thin rounds or small chunks, depending on your preference. - Assemble the Puff Pastry:
- Cut the puff pastry sheet into squares (about 4–6 squares, depending on how big you want your pastries to be).
- In the center of each square, place a few banana slices.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips (or chunks) over the banana slices.
- Optional: If you want to add some extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or a little brown sugar on top of the bananas.
- Fold the Puff Pastry:
- Fold the corners of each square toward the center, creating a little pocket or envelope around the banana and chocolate. You can also fold the pastry into triangles if you prefer.
- Pinch the edges to seal, ensuring no chocolate or banana escapes during baking.
- Brush with Egg Wash:
Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden, shiny finish once baked. - Bake:
Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy. - Serve:
Let the pastries cool for a few minutes. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving for a touch of sweetness.
