Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
- Begin by heating a small skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and minced garlic; sauté until the garlic is fragrant but not browned, about 1 minute.
- Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 2–3 minutes. This step removes excess moisture from the spinach, ensuring the crescents don’t become soggy.
- Transfer the cooked spinach to a mixing bowl and allow it to cool slightly.
- To the bowl, add crumbled feta, cream cheese, black pepper, salt, and your chosen herb if using. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined and form a creamy, cohesive filling.
2. Prepare the Crescent Dough
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles as per the package instructions.
- Place each triangle on the prepared baking sheet, giving enough space between each for even baking.
3. Fill and Roll the Crescents
- Spoon a generous tablespoon of the spinach-feta filling onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Carefully roll each crescent from the wide end to the narrow tip, encasing the filling inside. For a more secure roll, you can fold in the edges slightly before rolling to prevent any filling from spilling out.
- Once all crescents are filled and rolled, arrange them on the baking sheet with the seam side down.
4. Bake the Crescents
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10–12 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and flaky.
- Remove the crescents from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a serving platter.
